Intersections between art and science

Teaching children the Sensory Alphabet  -- and about their own individual creative process -- is what we think helps "grow" minds that can see the edges, make sense between fields, work in the "trenches" where innovation and invention flourish. New World Kids is about helping kids grow the tools for seeing, responding to, and enjoying the sometimes scary territory of "between." Many of the world's most exciting advances have come in these areas between fields, and we need those kinds of minds more than ever.

Here's a video from robotics scientist and artist Ken Goldberg talking about intersections between art and science. It's lengthy but worth it. Are there other places in your community that nurture these intersections? How could you help your children bridge the gap? (Ken is the director of Berkeley's Center for New Media.)
