The Horizon Project Report

The Horizon Project is New Media Consortium's annual effort to identify and describe the key emerging technologies that will be influential for teaching, learning, and creative expression in schools over the next five years. Each year a Horizon Report is produced for higher education concerning emerging technology (additional information can be found at http://horizon.nmc.org).

For the first time, the NMC convened an international advisory board to create a Horizon Report for K-12. NWK co-author Susan Marcus is a member of the advisory board. The cover is shown above...a link to the pdf of the report is in our file of  free downloadable resources.

From the executive summary:

■ The perceived value of innovation and creativity
is increasing. Innovation is valued at the highest
levels of business and must be embraced in
schools if students are to succeed beyond their
formal education. The ways we design learning
experiences must reflect the growing importance
of innovation and creativity as professional skills.
